His family is originally from the country of Eritrea. Daniel was born in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia. Daniel joined the Tennis Staff at Myers Park Country Club in the fall of 2006. Daniel began playing tennis at the age of five, coached by his father who is a Tennis Professional in Eritrea. He has one brother and two sisters. Daniel developed into one of Ethiopia’s top players, winning many National Championships in junior singles and doubles tournaments. We was a member of the Ethiopian National Team from 1994-1996 and faced Lithuania in Davis Cup competition. Daniel coached for six years in Kenya, then moved to the United States in 2004 where he became a Tennis Instructor for Yale University. Daniel is fluent in five languages. In his spare time he enjoys watching movies and going to the gym.
